[attr="class","SCdeftextarea"] First off, welcome to our site! We’re glad you’re taking enough interest in our lovely place to stop by and read the rules. So, let’s get down to the nitty gritty.

DISCLAIMER: This site isn't a gambling site and does not promote it. It is a conspiracy/science fiction role-play.

[break][break] Please register with your character’s first and last name and once registered separate the names with a space. That makes it easy on everyone and hey, by the time you register you already know what your character’s name is going to be. You’ve got some of the work done already!
[break][break] Fill out the application fully and once you’re accepted then you can post in any board you wish. We just want to establish that you can post in guest boards before your application but only the character boards once you’re accepted.
[break][break] We ask that your playby be an actual, real person. By real we mean an actor, model, or celebrity. Please no anime, cartoon, scenesters etc. As well, since this is a board dedicated to a certain time period we would love if you tried your best to find someone who keeps with our era. We understand that there are not too many people to be found in 50’s or 60’s clothing, so don’t worry about being too accurate. All we mean is to avoid using Disney/Nickleodeon stars or anything of the like.
[break][break] There is a bit of a limit on the amount of characters you can have at a time: only 5 at one time. We hate to have a limit but sometimes other characters fall to the side when people pick up new ones. If you want to do more the 5, PM one of the admins to discuss it, we're flexible! We know how it is when the idea for a character strikes you. We also require that you PLEASE wait to create your next character until the previous character you have made has become fairly active and has threads (finished, in progress, and future plots). More specifically, please wait until you have completed at least one thread with your character and have another thread in the works. [break][break] All we require for posts is a minimum of two paragraphs, or one if you are not feeling too into the thread that day but would like to just get a reply up. We don’t require novels for applications or in thread posts. I hate it when you go to a site and everyone wants you to write a novel. Don’t worry about writing really long posts, but you can if you want. [break][break] The site is rated PG-13, it involves Las Vegas type themes after all. Please follow all Proboards rules about rates, remembering to avoid description of anything too graphic, sexual, violent, or otherwise. [break][break] As with all roleplay sites, please no godmodding or powerplaying! You can do this as long as you have permission from the person involved. Otherwise please avoid it! [break][break] We love pretty things and we love to keep our site on the list of lovely things in this world. So we have a place on Dreamland where you can get our themed graphics! We will do all the work for you to find wonderful images of your character if you wish. If you are skilled with photoshop and are handy with graphics, by all means you can make your own avatar if you wish! We only want to keep all graphics looking clean and crisp and keep them from stretching the page. [break][break] Along the same line with graphics, in the interest of keeping this site looking clean only avatars/icons are allowed. Please no banners/signatures. If you would like an avatar simply post in the graphics thread and either Elliot or Bonnie will fill your request!
[break][break] Please, please, please be respectful to the admins and all the members on the site. We love to roleplay and want to keep this place with a fun atmosphere. Please don’t be rude or mean to others, provoked or not. If you have a problem with any other member, don’t hesitate to PM any of the admins. We have an arsenal of weapons and will take care of the problem. Ok, so that might be over exaggerating, but we will do our best to take care of the situation. We also greatly discourage cliques and do our best to prevent the formation of cliques and would appreciate the same from our members!
[break][break]We as admins reserve the right to suspend or ban anyone we believe is violating our rules or harming the site and the other members. We are not the sort of people that act on a whim when it comes to this and we will do everything we can to avoid such severe action. But, if we believe there is bullying in any way, toward us admins or members, we will take action. We want everyone to have fun and that includes us admins too! As well, if we find that any member has attempted to bring other members from this site to another that will result in an immediate banning as we spend all of our time making this site and this community enjoyable we don’t wish to blindly and continually waste our efforts on people who don’t share or appreciate such devotion. This makes us sound far more harsh than we are, promise! [break][break] We would love to keep this site active, so please don’t register and split! We have had our fair share of sites that have had a flurry of activity and members and then all the members have disappeared. We adore Dreamland and our story going here and would like to see it grow. We will hold annual activity checks to make sure everything stays running and to get rid of ghost threads. If one doesn't respond to a check their account(s) will be put into pending for a week, during which they can PM an admin showing their activity and take them out of pending. A failure to respond after this week will result in deletion. [break][break] No spamming the cbox please! We have a board where you can affiliate with us so please use it. We don’t want that board to get lonely and cold.
[break][break] We have some limitations and requirements concerning characters. One of the things we are trying to do with our plot is make it interesting and entertaining for each character on Dreamland. Depending on your occupation and job you will receive certain information about the plot. So, please look at the Playland Characters list before you create an application.
[break][break] Us admins often like to give our members plot PMs to spice things up and give you all new directions to play. These PMs will be sent intermittently throughout the playing out of our site plot. They will be at random and not everyone will get one, but the PMs will be suggesting character interactions so that even those who didn’t get a PM will get a plot to play out through another member. And, of course, if anyone is struggling with a character or plot you are free to message any of the admins to request a plot be given to you.
