LAS VEGAS CENSUS PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM AND RETURN BY MAIL. SOPHIE RENARD-WOLFE BASIC INFORMATION
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION HAIR COLOR AND STYLE: A natural dirty blond but, depending on how much time she spends in the sun, it can go a bit lighter. Usually she keeps it in a braid during the day, just to save her less brushing or styling later. And at night, she leaves it loose to fall in natural waves down her back. Her hair is of medium length, falling just below her shoulder blades. At times, she will straighten and volumise it, but only if she is of the mood. EYE COLOR: A startling blue, darker around the pupil and in a ring around the outer edge. BODY BUILD: After years of abuse to her body, Sophie keeps very thin. Although once blessed with natural curves, they are fairly modest, but, as she is reminded, her long legs more than make up for her lack of the more dramatic curves some girls possess. Her skin is a healthy tanned colour, something she has worked to maintain. From working hard on the farm for most of her youth, she maintains some strength and agility - but as the years pass that is waning. When she is 'sick', her skin tends to pale and dull. GET UP: During the day, Sophie is a fan of shorts and bright colours. She is constantly in heels, nice ones at night, and comfier wedges during the day - if she leaves the house. If she's not leaving, which is more often than not, she will go for a nice sundress and bare feet. She is not a fan of prints, however, and so is usually seen in a pair of high-waisted denim shorts, heels, and a brightly coloured shirt. She also likes to wear large sunglasses during the day, and has a few statement necklaces she makes use of. On the rare occasion that Harvey will take her out for a night on the town or for some event - she makes an effort to impress. She is always careful, however, to allow Roxie the spotlight. The thought of overshadowing her frightens Sophie. She knows that Roxie is Harvey's main girl. And she is just his little sister. PERSONALITY DISPOSITION: Sophie is not so much a complex girl, as she is manipulative. So depending on who you are, she can be a very different person. So I suppose we'll start with that - manipulative. Above everything else, this part of Sophie is ingrained in her. From her time as a child, she learned what she could do to get what she wanted, what made people tick. She has no qualms in doing whatever it takes to get what she wants. Using her manipulative skills, she will steal, cheat, lie, kiss, flatter or fight her way into, or out of, just about any situation. True to the French translation of her chosen last name, she is as cunning as a fox when she needs to be. She learned this from her brother - and continues to learn from him everyday. Another part of her personality is her desperation. Being a heroin addict, from dawn til dusk she is focused on feeding herself. Now that it's illegal in the United States, there can be a lull in the flow of the drug, and so some days she is left dry. This makes her desperate. Deep down, she is terrified of the sickness, and that's part of what drives her to do desperate things to try and stay above water in terms of her addiction. Harvey is an enabler in a sense. He hates seeing his sister sick, has a hard time saying no to her when she cries and begs. And then there are times when he tries to be tough on her, saying it's for the best - she's got to stop. And she has to find her drug of choice on her own. At 25, she should be an adult. But Sophie is not. She is quite childish, really. She wants things so desperately, and does not handle it well when things do not go her way, and she is a terribly sore loser. This childish nature makes her competitive, petty and often very moody. Sophie is also very selfish. She grew up the apple of her parents' eyes and has only really ever had to think of herself and her needs - and Harvey's. They have always been so close and she loves him deeply. Everything she does, in the long run, is for her own, and her brother's, benefit. She's also greedy, always wanting more money, more heroin, and more attention. But the more time she spends in Vegas, away from her family and at her brother's whim - she is growing increasingly afraid. She is terrified of the power Roxie holds over him and the desperate lengths he is going to to keep her. He has changed since they got to Vegas, since he chose this path - and it frightens her sometimes. She is scared she will get on Roxie's bad side and she will have Harvey dispose of her. She is scared she's losing her brother - and once he's gone, she will have nothing left. All she wants is love - it's what she needs. Yes, deep down, Sophie wants to be loved. All her life she has been wanting to fall in love. Harvey looks after her - but he isolates her. She's not allowed to socialize. She is like a princess locked away in a tower. And their early years in Las Vegas were a living hell for Sophie - something Harvey knows nothing about. And it has twisted her view of men, of love and sex. But there is a big part of her that, although jaded and wounded, longs for love more than anything else. The catch of all this being that, at her current rate, she's not sure she'll even make it to thirty. Or if she does, nobody will want her. HISTORY HOMETOWN: A farm in rural Wyoming FAMILY: HARVEY WOLFE - older brother FRIENDS: None as of yet! RECORD: Once upon a time there was a girl named Sophie. Everything she touched turned to gold. Her parents called her their little ray of sunshine - and everybody loved her. Life on the farm was hard. But she had her mother, who always brushed her hair with such care. A father who would sit her on his shoulders and tell her about the stars. She had brothers who loved her and made her chores into games so they would seem more fun. She had sisters who shared their clothes with her. But, like her brother, she dreamed of far off places. She dreamed of Paris, of London and Italy. She also dreamed of a knight in shining armor - come across the desert to come and take her away to some far off kingdom where the sun didn't burn her skin and her belly didn't grumble. A kingdom where she didn't begin to worry about her parents and her brother, especially. When their older brothers didn't return from the war - Sophie cried and cried and cried. It was a grief she couldn't comprehend. And she was never quite the same after they died. Harvey seemed to bounce back - they were only competition and authority figures to him. But Sophie had loved them fiercely. They were her best friends and her protectors - and now they were dead...They were her personal guards in Sophie's imaginary kingdom - and now they were gone. Where was her knight? At the ripe age of fourteen - she met that knight. His name was Tony. He was twice her age - but he was so handsome. And he called her his princess. In just a few short moments - she was besotted with him. Sophie knew her brother would leave - it was just a matter of when. The night he left she stayed up waiting for him. But he left so late and she had dozed off. When she realized he had left - she took off. To this day, she regrets not saying goodbye to her siblings and her parents. They would understand why Harvey left. But Sophie...she knew it would break their hearts. She cried most of the trip into Las Vegas. But when they got there - Tony was quick to dry her tears. He was good to her. Bought her nice things. And he was good to Harvey too - sent him out on jobs and gave her a room all of her own to stay in. He even had a tutor for her. He said she was real smart, and those smarts shouldn't be wasted. But it took only a few months for Sophie's whole world to be turned upside down. Tony was sending Harvey away for longer stints - bigger jobs. At night, he would make her take vitamins, as he called them. They'd make her feel very strange - but she liked them. She'd find out later, when one of Harveys' men offered her some, that it was heroin he'd been giving her all along. At fifteen, Tony decided he would take over Sophie's teachings. But the man had ulterior motives. He wasn't interested in Sophie's soul, in her brain or her humor or her kind nature - he only wanted her body. He said if she ever told Harvey - it would be the death of both of them. So Sophie endured. What choice did she have? Until Harvey grew strong enough and smart enough to notice something was going on. He never directly asked Sophie about it - maybe he was too scared to hear what she would say. Harvey tells everyone that he was the one to kill Tony - but that's not true. Sophie did. She followed Harvey when he took him out to the desert - and when the time came - she shot him. She shot him until the clip ran out - and then she beat him with her pistol until there was nearly nothing left. Harvey and her have never spoken about the deed. But he held her in his lap as she cried all the way back into town. Since then - her heroin addiction has gripped her. In the early days, before Harvey was willing to admit his sister's problem, Sophie was the run around town. She was desperately searching for intimacy and some kind of escape from what she'd done and the life she'd lived and she found some of that in sex - with women. As soon as Harvey found out - he locked her up. He used the excuse of her heroin addiction - but Sophie knows what it's really about - and it breaks her heart. Now she lives as a semi-prisoner. A live in maid for her brother, at the beck and call of the woman who has taken over his life. THE INCIDENT WHAT HAPPENED?: She was in her room - of course. She cried and yelled for Harvey because she was terrified - but he was too preoccupied with Roxie. One of his men eventually came in and sat with her until the power came back on. She never told Harvey about it - afraid that the guy might get in trouble with her over-protective and controlling older brother. OOC INFORMATION
