If Margot didn’t want to sit in the shopping cart, Margot didn’t sit in the shopping cart and she would run riot all over the store, slinging random things into the cart when her mother wasn’t looking. Whether she was too spoilt and pampered when she was a child or the stubbornness genetically courses through her veins, she is as stubborn now as she was when she was little. Perhaps something that doesn’t aid her stubborn flair is her yearning for perfection. Margot is a true perfectionist at heart, a mild case of OCD probably contributing to this trait, and she will not rest unless something is up to her standard of perfection. Her mum could spend ages styling Margot’s hair for the hours of hard work to be destroyed, taken out and redone by Margot herself. “If you want anything done properly- do it yourself”. If certain foods aren’t cooked the way she likes it, she won’t eat them. She's a fussy eater, anyway. Friends and family should learn not to take offence when she turns up her nose or takes matters into her own hands. It’s just the way she is and it irks her when it isn’t right. Her OCD worsens depending on how stressed she is and, in the worst cases, it can take her hours to actually leave the house because she ends up making sure everything is absolutely perfect 20 times over. Being such a perfectionist means that she is highly critical of her own work whether it be schoolwork, hobbies like painting, or, her passion, acting. She longs to be an actress in Hollywood movies. The glamour and excitement of it all draws her in but she’s finding it extremely hard to get her foot in the door. When she’s let down at auditions she can be extremely hard on herself and after sulking for a few days she gets back into rehearsing intensively until she is perfect. Until she makes her big break in the movie world, she tries to be in local amateur plays, slowly trying to build a name for herself so she can take on bigger things. Margot may be fiery and her straightforwardness can be intimidating but she isn’t scary at all, really. First impressions of her are normally that she’s very friendly and welcoming. She was brought up to be polite and she is when the situation calls for it. When at home she can be boisterous and careless but she can be graceful and elegant when the situation calls for it. Her friends and family are showered with loyalty and affection. She’ll turn up uninvited to your house to give you something that made her think of you or she’ll drag you out to the movies. Margot is a shoulder to cry on for anyone. It’s only when she discovers something about you that she doesn’t like that she can become blunt and cold towards you. She doesn’t take kindly to people lying to her and she finds it hard to forgive people. She can stand up for herself no problem but she can be emotional. Once her emotions reach a certain height whether she’s happy, sad or angry she’ll likely just burst into tears and run off. Though she maybe emotional when shit hits the fan, Margot doesn’t really like talking about her emotions to anyone but her brother and sometimes her mother. You can tell if something is getting her down because she is vastly more quiet than usual. Margot gets her kicks out of pushing peoples’ buttons and irritating them purposefully. She can be childish and impish, pulling pranks on friends and family for her own enjoyment. This childish side of her can be naïve and easily swayed. When in formal situations where the opportunity to voice her opinion of a person will never arise she gets her release in other cunning ways such as putting salt in a horrible person’s drink or putting shrimp in their handbag. Rules were made to be broken in her eyes and she likes to push the limits. Life wouldn’t be fun without a taste of adventure every once in a while. Although the twins are practically inseparable, Margot can be extremely independent. She’s impulsive and will do whatever she wants to do, when she wants to do it, even if other people won’t join her. She’s adventurous and is dying to see what the world has to offer. RELATIONSHIPS: "Father". Joseph Rodgers. (Deceased) Margot loved her father. He spoilt her rotten and was one of the few people that could get Margot to give in when she was being awfully stubborn. He would give Margot “that look” and she would know she was in big trouble. She misses him dearly but tries not to think about it because if she thinks about it too much she cries. Part of her has hope that he isn’t dead and they will find him. Margot doesn’t really like talking about him much at all. Mother. Helena Rodgers. Margot has always looked up to her mother and still does. Her mother is so strong and intelligent. If it wasn’t for Helena, Margot wouldn’t be half has strong-willed as she is. A very small part of Margot feels bad for all the times she has purposely wound up her poor mother- even if it is hilarious. She recognizes how hard it must be bringing up twins as hectic as James and Margot but that doesn’t stop her being difficult. Margot is easily embarrassed by anything her mother does in public and likes to remind her mom ‘how to be cool’. She has a lot of love for her mum and even though she doesn’t show it as much as she should and tends to get annoyed with her mother sometimes, she hopes that her mother understands. On the whole, if Margot has any problems Twin Brother. James Rodgers. Being twins, it isn’t surprising at all that they are as close as they are. Sure, they have their upsets and arguments, as all siblings do, but they have a closeness that can match no other. They have that way of being able to tell what the other is thinking with just one look. They know each other inside-out and she’d do anything for him. Hell, she even failed a year of school so that she could be moved back a year and stay with him. Even at age 18 they are as close as they were when they were little. Margot still crawls into his bed when there’s a thunderstorm or she can’t sleep. Ever since their father died, there’s no denying that the twins have gotten closer. James is the only person Margot tells everything to. The only person she trusts 100%. She looks out for him as he does for her and she sticks up for him. She enjoys winding him up and knows how to push his buttons and will do so until he flips out. In her eyes, it’s payback for all the times he’s ratted her out to their parents. Although devoted to her brother, she likes her own space sometimes. Him constantly worrying about her and breathing down her neck has gotten overbearing- especially recently. Margot feels extremely hurt whenever she finds out James has been keeping something from her and she can’t help but feel jealous when he goes out with friends without her. New Father Figure. Colt Jackson. One thing she knows for sure about Colt is that he is definitely the most fun to wind up. Maybe it’s because he’s old. Margot enjoys pulling pranks on Colt and the results have her creased up in laughter for a while after. She respects the man and over the years has grown to love him in one way or another. However, she is very dubious as to what his intentions are and doesn’t like the idea of him swanning in and thinking he can be their father. She likes to make that ‘father-figure’ role as difficult as it can be for him by getting herself into trouble or getting him into trouble. It’s not terribly vicious or anything. It’s just a way of Margot letting him know his place in her eyes. When she’s not being a difficult child, however, she gets on really well with Colt. She even cuddles up to him on the couch if she’s feeling particularly affectionate. If Colt upsets Margot, he gets the backlash much harder than any of his family members. Margot once managed to ignore him for a whole month. HISTORY: Margot Jean Rodgers was born and has been lovingly raised right here in Las Vegas all of her life. The twins may have been slightly spoilt as they were growing, their mother devoting herself to their every need and striving to be the best mother she could be. Margot has always known how to get what she wants and she knew exactly how to toy with her father until he buckled in and gave her whatever she wanted. It was a comfortable life, the children were encouraged to be their own people, encouraged to take on any hobby or craft they wanted to. School was a joy to Margot and she excelled in it. She was a member of the theatre society and was always surrounded by a flurry of friends. It was the death of Joseph Rodgers which changed the family's lives forever. Her father was called to war and didn't return. The twins watched their mother fall into depression and they themselves started to freak out, too. School was hard. People didn't understand. Margot clung to her mother and brother for support and even though Helena would put on a brave face, it was plain to see how much she was hurting on the inside. James was certainly struggling with school and Margot could see he was going to fail the school year. Feeling sad, lonely and scared, she failed tests on purpose so that they could stay in the same grade. As the years went by, the mourning of their father became easier. Helena seemed to be recovering from the loss, especially with the help of a family friend- Colt Jackson. Although Margot was hesitant to let Colt in, she was glad there was someone there to support them. She has absolutely no idea that Colt is her biological father but she has a suspicion that he holds more than friendly feelings for her mother, which makes her angry. Currently, the Rodgers are doing well patching up their family. Margot and James are going into their last year of high school and Margot holds lots of hope for the future. |
