This is the, so far unnamed, detective that is working with Shoshanna to bring down the Mafia. He approached her three years ago and has been working with her ever since. Considering the great risk she's taking - there has to be a good level of trust between them. This detective is taking a big risk too by trusting her to feed him the right information and not get him killed. Anna sees him as ambitious and intelligent. She believes he is good at his job and in it for all the right reasons - otherwise she wouldn't trust him like she does. Whether this is true or not is entirely up to you - as are his reasons for putting his life and career on the line. I want to keep these plots fairly open to interpretation and discussion - so feel free to take an idea and run with it!

This is Anna's husband - Tony. When they first met, I imagine Tony was genuinely attracted to her and probably had the best intentions. But somewhere along the line things between them broke down. Anna is not the easiest woman to get close to - especially when she was brought to Italy and America as a prisoner. I don't imagine she warmed much to Tony at all, even if there was that brief year where things were going well between them. Now they are like strangers. She does as she is told, and he wields power over her seemingly out of spite. Whether this is true or not is up to you. As is his history and his reasoning for controlling and abusing his wife.
